Hand Crafted in France using a very ancient hard drying technique with ONLY 6 Natural VEGAN Ingredients.
Known as the Best Shaving Soap in the world it easily makes an incredible huge and abundant quantity of lather with just few swirls of the brush.
I literally counted six light swirls of the brush on the soap and this was enough to make a quantity of lather more than enough for my usual three passes.
The lather is of excellent quality, very tiny bubbles and sometimes none at all, excellent water retention, creamy and slick.
Wonderful sensation on the skin, fresh & light with an excellent moisturizing effect, the razor slides easily & comfortably, no signs of skin irritations using Martin De Candre Shaving Soap at all.

In Summary : An excellent shave soap, certainly of superior quality, amazing for the very small quantity needed to get a rich and luxurious lather.
Literally a few swirls on the soap with a moderately soaked Shaving brush gives a rich and creamy lather with a very good water retention.
One of the very best Shaving Soaps I have ever tried, although quite expensive – but you really need a microscopic quantity – this certainly is a must for every wet shaver.
No skin irritation at all after Shaving, leaving a smooth feeling skin with a pleasing fresh and clean sensation.
This soap is a great example of how quality can make a difference in soap making.

The performance of MDC is the stuff of legends; with in mere seconds of beginning your lathering of this soap you have enough lather for one pass in 5 seconds load time. It’s also very slick and fairly protective lather. Even if you have a dry lather with MDC it is still slick enough for the razor to glide with extreme ease. The MDC website says that if you follow their instructions one soap can last over a year; I can see this lasting much longer than that. Even though it’s not triple milled; it is a very hard soap due to the months of drying from the company’s farm and thus it feels triple milled even though it’s not. This is a soap that I feel will last a few years with semi regular use. I’ve had the Agrumes for about a year and it looks brand spanking new even though I’ve used it many times; I lather this soap the same way I lather any soap. With a fairly wet brush adding water as needed then face lather. I can see these shave soaps being something you inherited to someone when your time has come; especially if you use many different soaps. I’m still impressed with the quality of the lather as it’s very slick and with a wet brush quite protective, thick and dense.
Scent:
My favorite among the Martin De Candre soaps so far is Agrumes; so I’ll speak on that one. Agrumes is described as their citrus scented soap; great for spring/summer time. I say this could be an all year scent as Agrumes has a scent that I describe as a “happy scent”. It just brightens my day every time I sniff it, but the same can be said for Original and Fougère. MDC’s scent is simple yet very enjoyable to the senses.

I’ll have to admit, at first I was undecided about the scent of Martin de Candre AGRUMES, but now I love it. As for performance, it is definitely the top soap in my rotation. I’m a uberlatherer, so the first time I used it, I used T&H Ultimate Comfort shave cream and glycerin with the MdC. After reading another thread about MdC I tried it non-uberlather – just the MdC by itself. I was STUNNED at the quality of the lather it produced. I have never seen a soap produce this kind of cushion all by itself! I can’t say enough good things about it.
